Watch the Connecting Two Arpeggios online guitar lesson by Dave Celentano from Classical Concepts for Rock Guitar

Here we'll work with connecting the two arpeggios from Concept 1 (A minor and E major). Use the picking hand's palm/heel to mute all the lower strings when not played to eliminate as much string noise as possible. Think of the sweeps as strumming in slow motion. The trick is coordinating the fret hand fingers with the pick to get a smooth tone. If this proves too difficult, try playing each note as a quarter note at about 60 b.p.m. on your metronome. The goal is to connect each note without getting off the beat.
