The focused interval here is a perfect 5th. It starts with a half step pull off/hammer on up to the root and back. The next half step pull off/ hammer on is the 5th degree of the scale pulled off to the flat five and back to the fifth. The flatted fifth is not in the D major scale. It's used in this example as an unimportant passing tone. The fact that it is played on an upbeat instead of a downbeat makes it even that much more unimportant. After the ascending climb of 5ths, the ending consists of just a simple melody with a couple of whole step bends, ending on the 5th.
