Watch the Stevie's Way online guitar lesson by Will Sophie from 50 Southern Rock Licks You MUST Know
We all remember the Lynyrd Skynyrd plane crash in 1977, in which a quite a few band and crew members were killed. Among them was the very talented new guitar player Steve Gaines. Steve was an intelligent musician, who always seemed to know what a song needed. On their last album: 'Street survivors', one of Steve's compositions was a fast boogie tune called:'I know a little', where he was picking the lead on a Fender Strat. This particular Strat sound became a key element within the Southern rock sound. This was after former Skynyrd member Ed King had introduced it in 1974 in their biggest hit 'Sweet home Alabama'. With this typical Fender staccato guitar sound we're gonna try to get closer to that Southern boogie style in lick 21.
