Many Southern Rock guitar players from the 1970's were playing these half bended multiple string riffs. You'll get this rich sound, cutting through the background music, often used more or less as a statement in a guitar solo. It also targets the chord which is being played underneath, as the notes can be recognized as the 1, 3 and 5 of a triad chord. In this next example we're gonna combine these little 'statements' with other chord integrations using the mixolydian scale.
