Watch the Bargin Boogie online guitar lesson by Jason Loughlin from 50 Rockabilly Licks You MUST Know

I call it Bargain Boogie because it’s a stripped-down, no-frills version of a boogie woogie pattern. Boogie woogie, besides being fun words to say, is a style of blues that is largely associated with piano and was very popular in the ‘30s and ‘40s. On the guitar we take the rhythm pattern from a pianist’s left hand and apply them to the guitar. Boogie patterns are a big part of the rockabilly language. You can hear these patterns in everything from Stray Cats material to Psychobilly.
