I’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: The half step bend is one of the most expressive techniques that we have as guitarists. It can add tension and drama to almost any melody. In this lick let’s take a look at the half step bend used throughout the riff at different points. In fact, we are going to utilize the half step movement in different ways as well. The first being a nice half step bend to go from the B note to the C note and the ending one getting that half step flavor through adding our fourth finger to an already existing stretch. You can’t get more expressive than this humble little stretch.
