Changing the tonality of some of the scales you are using can have a great melodic impact. It can inject a feel that is unexpected for the listener and it can help to really keep things fresh. In this lick we are going to examine imposing a mixolydian/dominant 7th vibe over the chord changes. Bringing in the pentatonic scale gives the listener a sense of completion and resolution. You’ll find that using this approach in your own soloing is going to add a very unique element.
