Watch the Lunar Module online guitar lesson by Jon Finn from 30 Melodic Modal Rock Licks You MUST Know

I called this lick "Lunar Module" because it opens with a wide interval leap. A "giant leap". More specifically, a major 7th interval. So, think about astronauts coming out of the Lunar Module to make a "giant leap"...OK, it sounded much more clever in my head.

Anyway, after the leap between A and G#, there's a simple passage based on the notes from the A Lydian scale. I didn't think, "I will now play notes from the Lydian scale!" Rather, I just tried to finish the "musical sentence" so to speak. Check the notation and tablature to get the finer details. Practice with the backing track, then invent your own version of this lick!
