Watch the Motivic Development online guitar lesson by Robben Ford from Blues Motif Revolution

At a young age, I was drawn to jazz as well as flashy guitar players like Mike Bloomfield who led me to believe that more was more. However, the more rhythm guitar I played, the more I learned how to play less. With that in mind, we'll look at some ideas for motifs over a very simple vamp in the key of E. I'll start by trying to fit, playing minor triads with the very simple bass and drums, and then branching out a bit with using 4ths and bringing in the pentatonic scale.
