Now let's finish out the last four bars of this chorus. Something I mentioned earlier is picking. I'm playing pretty far back here, and using downstrokes. It's not so much the back and forth picking technique, but deliberately down and next to the bridge. When you're back on the bridge you get a very plucky and percussive sound, which is something that I like when playing blues.

B.B. didn't really play that way - he's got his own thing going on - but Lonnie Johnson, who I reference a lot, did this kind of thing. He didn't have a lot of records, and even became a janitor after he disappeared. But check him out, and you'll hear this kind of stuff in action.
