Watch the Approach 2: Performance online guitar lesson by Vicki Genfan from Rhythm Makeover: Vicki Genfan
Both hands are creating the tight, rhythmic feel for this strum with muting techniques. You might wonder why the right hand is moving from the sound hole towards the head of the guitar as I strum. It happens intuitively, but I think it is because I start at the sound hole for the biggest sound, but find that it’s easier and more effective to do the right hand muting if I’m further down the neck. Try different positions out and see how it sounds and feels to you. Everybody’s ergonomics are different, as we are different sizes and shapes, and our guitars are different. Find your sweet spot!
