Watch the Approach 2: Breakdown online guitar lesson by Muriel Anderson from Rhythm Makeover: Muriel Anderson
Chord Changes: A G#m F#m E - I’m using the accompaniment pattern and voicings from my song “Rio de Janiero”. I was just trying to capture a Brazilian-like feel, and experimented until I found something that captured the essence. Although when I break down the technique it appears complicated, I wasn’t thinking about technique when I found the patterns and the voicings. You may want to work the pattern slowly at first until it becomes internalized, and then you can play with the patterns as you feel them. Instead of thinking of all the chord alterations, I’m thinking more of a riff with a moving voice or moving bass line.
