Chord Changes: A G#m F#m E - I’ll use open strings within the chords to create interesting voicing on the rhythmic arpeggio. Joni Mitchell did this a lot in her music, finding open strings or moving one finger can give the chords a more interesting sound, and sometimes are easier to play as well! I also pay attention to which fingers to use to accommodate the next chord as well as any melodic figures I may want to add. For instance, the G#m has the middle finger in the bass, and I change to the index finger on the bass note when I move down to the F#m if I want to add a pull-off on the 2nd string.
