Watch the Part Bass online guitar lesson by Corey Congilio from Rhythm Factory: Texas Blues
My first choice is to not play what the bass player is playing but, sometimes in blues we'll hear the guitarist mimic a bassline. We're doing that in this example. I add a little riff at the end to spice it up too. What's great about blues playing is that many rhythm ideas can translate to our lead playing. We'll see that as we progress through the course. Rhythm riffs make our lead playing more interesting and are a nice change of pace to single line solos.
