Rifi Hendrix: 1 - Introduction is a video guitar lesson presented by Chris Buono and is sourced from Guitar Cubed.

After getting down with four one chord jams in various styles it's time to up the ante and add a second chord to the mix creating a music environment we call "changes". As two chord jams go, there's several standard changes you MUST know and this first one just may be the quintessential--the I to IV. When the idea of changes is on the table that doesn't always mean "chord changes" per se, rather it means the idea there's shifts in the tonality. That said, it either goes one way or the another: chord changes or riffs built upon chord changes. Rifi Hendrix is all about the latter.

This riff-palooza is a 16 bar homage paid to the great James Marshall Hendrix that celebrates his compositional prowess (the guy was a killer riff writer). Built primarily from D minor pentatonic Guitar 1 rocks the 3rd position with the exception of the Hendrix-approved major arpeggio moves. Guitar 2 doubles Guitar 1 but with some very clever approaches including calculated timbral considerations--an idea first introduced in Stiff Upper Lip. The real eye-opener here is Guitar 3 where you have more of a bonafied third part as opposed to a solo type part.
