Watch the Gin Soaked Queen online guitar lesson by TrueFire from Play Rock Guitar 4: Rhythm Approaches

Gin Soaked Queen - Overview is a video guitar lesson presented by Andy Aledort and is sourced from Jam Night Vol. 2.

"Honkey Tonk Women" is standard fare at every jam session and just about every bar gig every night of the week, in every corner of the globe (not that I've been to every corner of the globe, but I have a feeling I'm correct on this). The Stones melded blues, rock and country in this song in a much-beloved fashion, played to a hard swinging beat that is tailor-made for barroom acrobatics on both the dance floor as well as the stage. Keith Richards orignally played the song in an open G tuning (low to high: D G D G B D, though, in later years, he usually removed the sixth string from his guitar). The examples played here are all demonstrated in standard tuning.
