Watch the Gin Soaked Queen: Rhythm 1 online guitar lesson by TrueFire from Play Rock Guitar 4: Rhythm Approaches

Gin Soaked Queen: Rhythm 1 - Performance is a video guitar lesson presented by Andy Aledort and is sourced from Jam Night Vol. 2.

The chord progression demonstrated here, played in the key of G, is very simple in that it begins on the I (one) chord, G, moves to the IV (four) chord, C, back to G, then to II (two) major, A, followed by the V (five), D. The progression then wraps up I-V-I (G-D-G). As mentioned, Keith used an open G tuning when playing "Honkey Tonk Women," but this example demonstrates how to play rhythm guitar in that style while using a standard tuning. One method for emulating the open-tuning sound is to use as many open strings as possible, as I do repeatedly for all G chords and the many different riffs that are played over the G chord.
