Watch the Tongue Twister online guitar lesson by TrueFire from Play Jazz Guitar 9: Advanced Lick Vocabulary

Tongue Twister - Lick 27 is a video guitar lesson presented by Bill Evans and is sourced from 30 Sax Licks for Guitar You MUST Know.

Lay back on the descending line in the beginning so that you can feel the "swing". When you practice lines, exaggerate everything. This way you'll not only remember the line, but your brain will recognize the line a bit easier. When you see lines like this, get used to the bebop style language. Listen to the rhythm, look at where the rests and intervals are, etc. You want to be able to play lines like this so that you can say more on your instrument.

Lines like this work with any kind of music. And, as I always say, lay back into the the time. Feel the time push you. You don't have to start your lines on the tonic either. Pick any note. They all work. Just resolve back into the key by the end of the phrase. I start this line on the 4th note of the scale and end on the 5th.
