This phrase also helps those that want to become better readers. You want to get more accustomed to seeing rests, breaks, triplets, accidentals, etc. If you changed the rhythm section behind this line each time you played it, the line would still hold up and sound good.
There's no one way to improvise. I use a lot of turnarounds on this phrase (and most of the others as well), these are notes leading to the next note.
