Watch the A Go Go online guitar lesson by TrueFire from Play Jazz Guitar 9: Advanced Lick Vocabulary

A Go Go - Lick 34 is a video guitar lesson presented by James Hogan and is sourced from 50 Jazz Rock Licks You MUST Know.

Here's a great lick from John Scofield. This one sounds killer and it's fairly easy to play. Its based in A minor pentatonic and employs the use of Sco's trademark 80‘s-90‘s chorus sound. You can hear Sco rip this one on his "A Go Go" album with groove masters Medeski, Martin and Wood.

While you can replicate this lick by simply playing along with the tab I provided for you, keep in mind that you'll need and overdrive/distortion pedal and a chorus pedal with the rate cranked to "11" to nail Sco's sound here. For the record, he used an Ibanez 335 styled guitar, a Rat pedal and an Ibanez CS9 chorus pedal during this era.
