BB is King - Lick 42 is a video guitar lesson presented by Richard Van Bergen and is sourced from 50 Down Home Blues Licks You MUST Know.

For the next few licks we dig into the style of the phenomenal B.B. King. Riley B. King was born in Mississippi in 1925. He moved to Memphis in 1946 together with his uncle Bukka White. For a while he was a disc jockey with the nickname Beale Street Blues Boy, later shortened to B.B. He recorded his first sides in 1949. B.B. King became the most succesfull blues artist of them all! He influenced almost all modern electric blues guitarists. Peter Green, Mike Bloomfield, Jimmie Vaughan. They all copied his licks, so why wouldn't we? This lick is in the key of C and captures a few of Mr. King's trademark tricks.
