Position 1 Solo - Breakdown is a video guitar lesson presented by Jason Loughlin and is sourced from Blues Connections: Major.
There are three motifs in this solo that pop up with different variations over the I, IV, and V chord. The first is an approach note into the third passing tones and ending on the b7. These passing tones can be from the major pentatonic scale or outline the arpeggio. The second motif dances around the third by starting on the 4th down to the b3rd and then lands on the third. This can be harmonized with double stops. The last motif walks down from the root to the b7 with a chromatic passing tone in between. When I get to the V chord, I walk down to the b7 but jump to the third in between each half step.
