Watch the One Way Street: Lead 2 online guitar lesson by TrueFire from Play Blues Guitar 6: Soloing Approaches

One Way Street: Lead 2 - Breakdown is a video guitar lesson presented by Andy Aledort and is sourced from Jam Night Vol. 1.

A unison bend on the b7, G, starts off this solo (in true Johnny Winter fashion), followed by a quick slide down to an oblique bend in fifth position. The b7 unison bend is then repeated, used as a thematic element, which then sets up ascending unison bends to A, C and D, at which point I switch to oblique bends in 17th positon of A minor pentatonic. The repeated bends/releases over D recall Eric Clapton's playing (think "Had to Cry Today," Blind Faith) and the riff in the last bar wraps up the solo in a manner similar to how Jimi Hendrix ends his "Foxey Lady" solo, with a descending pattern through A minor pentatonic.
