Watch the Back Scratch online guitar lesson by TrueFire from Play Blues Guitar 4: Rhythm Approaches

Back Scratch - Groove 24 is a video guitar lesson presented by Jeff McErlain and is sourced from 30 Authentic Blues Grooves You MUST Know.

"Baby Scratch My Back" was a hit for Slim Harpo in 1966. This swamp blues classic is almost a dance tune. A traditional 12 bar blues once it gets going but the intro is actually a 10 bar form. When playing this one live many people just play the whole thing as a 12 bar, but hey, the intro is cool so why not? The tremolo laden main riff outlines the I7, IV7, and V7 chords in a similar fashion to what we have seen before, but it is all about the subtleties.
