While I do not make or write music for people to play, I make it widely accessible and try to make it accurate so people can have fun with it. Most of my tunes are contained in books or accessible as PDF files downloadable from my website. I give residential seminars out of my home in France every year, as well as running workshops and masterclasses all over the world.
My pieces are based on strong melodies, harmonies, rhythms, grooves, tensions, contrasts, dynamics, expression and a sense of unpredictability. I manipulate the guitar so that it accompanies the sound of every note I play, never repeating things unless it makes sense to do so. I also follow a simple concept wherever I go, trying to find the common denominator between the people and places I visit and myself. Whatever I listen to—whether I enjoy it or not—is also filtered into my ideas of music, and how it should be served and handled. Musicians and people I meet are also another source of inspiration, as well as listening to the greats, past and present. I want to simply translate all my emotions and perception of life into music. I’m happy to present several excerpts of pieces here which will hopefully inspire you to play them in their original length.
