Nervousness so debilitating. So many of the people that I speak with when I ask "Is anybody incapacitated by nervousness?" throw their hands up.
Let's talk about nervousness and what it is. First to discuss nervousness. We have to talk about the hubris of going on stage, and I don't think that's addressed enough. Imagine the arrogance of assuming that you can ask people to stop doing what they're doing and pay attention to you and the fear that your content, your vision may not be enough to justify that interruption, or you'll forget a lyric or you'll play the wrong go. Perhaps you'll, uh, come in and as you're walking on stage, you'll trip, you'll make a fool of yourself. You will be the object of ridicule.
