Another traditional Brazilian music style is the samba. The samba is our main music, taken from a mixture of European and African sounds, created in Brazil in the 1900's. Songs like "Aquarela do Brasil" are a great example, or "Tico-Tico no Fubá". Samba is different than bossa nova in that it's a little stronger sounding, with bossa nova being very soft and sophisticated. A variation coming from samba to be aware of is the choro, or chorinho.
