Watch the High Steppin' online guitar lesson by Larry Carlton from 335 Hits

"High-Steppin" from the Alone But Never Alone album, 1986.

This album was the first time I did an all acoustic guitar album. I actually wrote this tune at the keyboard, so my guitar part is kind of a secondary support part until the solo comes and then I get to stretch out on a solo. Then it goes right back to that keyboard part that I wrote. Toward the end of the tune we did a breakdown section on the session and the great Abraham Laboriel, Sr. came up with the killer bass line - and I always look forward to that part of the tune just to hear Abe's line.

So let me show you how I played my background part for "High-Steppin".
