Watch the Bro Country in A online guitar lesson by Johnny Hiland from Ten Gallon Guitar: Intros, Outros & Turnarounds
I want to wrap things up by having a blast with you! It's time to get out the rock guitar. And, as you can see, I'm playing a Kiesel Aries here that I just love - it's my favorite rock guitar. We're bringing out the humbuckers and the whammy bar, folks, as well as a whammy pedal.
We'll be playing some "bro" country in the key of A. The reason we're focusing on rock here is because "bro" country, or today's country, rather, is more rock than ever before. With that being said, the biggest part for me is that there's repetitive licks that really become the important role in these songs. The progression here is a 13-45-11. But, the 3 here is actually a flat 3. So, we go from an A, to a C, to a D, and then an E (over which we'll be playing the Hendrix chord). Let's get started!
