Watch the Flat 3rd: Minor Sound online guitar lesson by Kenny Wessel from Shades of Jazz
This altered pentatonic scale works well over a Minor 6th chord. With the major b3 pentatonic, we get a root, 2, b3, 5 and 6, so it's a good choice for this type of harmony. In this demonstration we'll hear the G major b3 pentatonic scale over a G min6 chord vamp. It's a cool pentatonic sound! The normal pentatonic minor scale has no 6th in it, so this is a nice pentatonic option to get that color in your playing.
