Watch the Min. Triad: Alt. Dom. Sound online guitar lesson by Kenny Wessel from Shades of Jazz
For this demo, I'll play over a C7b9b13 chord vamp (altered dominant). This track will be in ¾ time. I'm going to demonstrate the sound of the Db minor triad to get an altered dominant feeling - more specifically, the b9, 3, b13 sound. Later in the track I'll play a C7 arpeggio 1, 3, 5, b7, so we can hear how the chord tones compare with the upper extensions, and we can play with consonance and dissonance.
