Watch the Solo Breakdowns online guitar lesson by Gil Parris from NYC Rhythm & Blues
I'm going to break down many unique articulation techniques in this example. One thing will be my unison bends with a unique sort of cat meowing backpick technique. I'll also break down a long Buzz Feiten style 6th lick with a country flavor and finish up with some unique banjo style rolls.
In the second video I'll show you a smorgasbord of rhythm styles. I'm going to break down some 60's style rhythm that I sort of start behind the sax solo bringing in some rootless funk voicings, suspended sounds and sort of a classic funk style ala James Brown in Parliament and then even bring in some wah wah sounds with double stops. These are all the parts that I utilized in the live Duck Walk example.
