Watch the NYC Jazz Guitar Summit online guitar lesson by Bruce Arnold from NYC Jazz Guitar Summit
" This is a very special project, and I am gratified to have TrueFire making it available to the public. For six years, I had the pleasure - and the hard work - of putting together a three week course of jazz guitar instruction. Each player I chose to teach in the course was a virtuoso, and also an effective communicator. When I told the folks at TrueFire about it, they immediately wanted to videotape these players and capture their thoughts, and now here is the result. All 525 concentrated minutes of it. So I tend to think of this as not just a teaching tool, which of course it is, in spades. I think of it as a historical document, that shows what kind of musical issues were being thought about and implemented by a cross section of dynamic musicians at the beginning of the 21st century. Improvisation in all its many approaches is discussed, and no matter what genre you are interested in, from jazz to classical music, you will find something here to chew on. I’m proud of this course. It is full of fascinating ideas that are just waiting to be explored." - Bruce Arnold.
