Watch the Dominant Blues Progression online guitar lesson by John Stowell from Modern Jazz Progressions

All of the chords here are basic dominant 7th chords, but there is still some more harmonic activity in this progression than in a basic blues that uses a I, IV and V chords.

Note the use of the VI dominant in the last turnaround back to the top, and the movement to the IV chord in the second bar, as I mention.

As in previous solos of mine, I'm mixing 1/8th and 1/16th notes and triplets to generate some rhythmic interest.
