Watch the Minor Triads online guitar lesson by John Stowell from Modern Jazz Improv

I didn't mention the b5 minor triad (in this key, F# minor triad over C7) to generate the b5 ,b9 and major 6th. Try mixing different triads in the same key to generate a variety of tensions/embellishments (i.e., F# major and minor triads over C7). As with the other triad substitutions, combine triads in pairs and then place the resulting harmony in a context to internalize the sounds.
