Embellished Melody 1
The embellished melody doesn't add any new information harmonically, but there are some subtle changes and additions rhythmically, and I'm also using accelerandos and deccelerandos to let the time breathe a bit. Obviously I can take these liberties more easily when playing alone.
In addition to using the open low E string a bit more as a pedal in the embellished melody, note the use of chromatics (bar 2) and some arpeggiated chords that I use to fill up the space a little. When playing this tune with a rhythm section, the open character of the melody appeals to me, but I think having a bit more activity is appropriate in a solo arrangement.
