Watch the Fast Track Blues online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from Jazz Up Your Blues

We start with the chords. On this fast tempo solo we start with a simple rhythmic thirds riff. Play the melody single line first then add the second note. Then that classic Benson lick is implemented once again as a flourish to go into the Eb9 chord. We use the same rhythm as before on the Eb9 chord and use the thirds again ending with a trill or hammer on and pull off which is very guitaristic. Then we spice it up with some grooving octaves sliding down from the sharp 4 to the natural 4th and recapitualting the classic Benson riff to end the solo. Playing fast tempo can be easy if using rhythmic patterns instead of a lot of notes. Legato octave lines are effective as well.
