Watch the i IV Progression online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from Inversion Excursion

Ah yes, the classic Evil Ways chord progression. A min to D dominant 7. A great progression and now we have a zillion ways to approach this great classic chord progression. We start with A minor triads moving to D dominant 7th chords in all positions. Start with A minor triad in root position and move to D dominant 7th in close proximity to the A minor triad as shown in the video segment. Then you can move on to A min 7 to D dominant 7th or D dominant 9. Experiment with all the extended chord types.
Also go through this segment using I major to IV major (A major 7th to D major 7th) and Dominant to Dominant (A7 to D7) or any of the various extended chord substitutions we went over in this course.
