Watch the i iv V Progression online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from Inversion Excursion
In this segment we work this classic progression using minor inversions. C minor to F minor to G dominant 7th. This is a progression you hear a lot in music as you will notice. This is why I chose to work with this great progression. We use minor triads and extended chords including minor 7th, minor 9th, etc... The important part is that you get used to moving between chords with ease in all position moving both vertical and horizontal. Again the possibilities are basically endless with regard to the amount of extended chords you can use, so experiment with all the chord types in all the positions and inversions.
