Watch the Sonora Spring: Solo Section online guitar lesson by John Jorgenson from Gypsy Jazz Journeys: Sonora Spring

Here's the first phrase of the solo - it's way up high on the high E string. It's a little bit complicated, but it's mostly built around an E minor arpeggio. You'll basically follow it up and back down again, landing on the 17th fret of the high E string at the D chord.

That's the notes, but the tricky part of this is the right hand picking. We start with alternating picking, and when you're going back down the arpeggio pattern, there's a sweep (consecutive downstrokes) to the high E string. We return to alternating up-down-up-down pattern when we bounce between the 15th and 19th fret of the high E string.
