Watch the Bossa Blues: Part 2 online guitar lesson by Mimi Fox from Graduated Solos
In this solo I am beginning to use the arpeggios of the chords more. I am playing denser lines, and I am also making use of the C harmonic minor scale. This is a very colorful scale which sounds great over a minor II,V,I (see my Jazz Anatomy cd-rom for an in depth exploration of how to solo over this progression). Anytime you have a minor II,V,I it sounds great to use the harmonic minor scale (use the key of the minor chord you are going to, for A minor, use A harmonic minor scale).
