Part Two focuses in techniques for extracting moving lines from chord symbols and applying them to chord accompaniment and solo playing. There are two types of chord symbols in use today....Standard and Slash.

Standard symbols give you the chord name alphabetically, the quality (family, major, minor, aug, and dim) and often but not always a suggested embellishment.

Slash chord symbols are the easiest to interpret because, in addition to providing the chord name, quality, and possible embellishment, they also include the chord inversion indicated by a bass note to the right of the chord symbol directly after the slash mark.
