Watch the Jazz Guitar Fakebook: Rhythm online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from Jazz Guitar Fakebook: Rhythm Vol. 1
Hi, I'm Frank Vignola and welcome to Jazz Guitar Fakebook: Rhythm Edition. The best way to learn how to play jazz is to learn how to play songs, and learning songs starts with learning the accompaniment. In this edition of the Jazz Guitar Fake Book, you'll learn the chords, rhythms, and comping approaches for jazz progressions in 30 of the most popular jazz standards.
In this course, I'll perform a play along for each of the 30 studies where I vary the chord voicing and comping approaches across multiple choruses, just like I would on the bandstand. Each study is charted out with chord grids illustrating the exact chords I play throughout the play along. Reference the charts and play along with me to practice and improve your comping skills.
You'll get each progression with chord diagrams, standard notation and tablature as well as all of the live band rhythm tracks to work with on your own. Of course, you can also use the play alongs for practicing improvising solo and melodies over these popular standard jazz progressions.
If you have any questions or want to learn more about improvising and studying the guitar, please visit my website, FrankVignola.com.
You ready to start? Grab your guitar, tune to A=440, and let's learn some songs.
