Watch the League Of It's Own online guitar lesson by Tom Dempsey from 50 Jazz Master Licks You MUST Know

Grant Green is one of the most recorded jazz guitarists in history. As the staff guitarist for Blue Note Records, Grant's playing can be found on many different recordings as a sideman for such artists as Jimmy Smith, John Patton, Stanley Turrentine, Lou Donaldson and so many more. Grant's soloing was crystal clear. He was not a guitarist with flash but rather one with a ton of substance and soul. This first excerpt is in the style of something he would play over a minor 7th chord. It is in the spirit of the recording he made of the tune Minor League. Take a listen.
