Jimmy Raney was a tremendous guitarist who was part of all the bop eras from bebop to hard bop and everything in between. His horn-like soloing styles and tremendous fluidity throughout the instrument has influenced many guitarists. He played with such great jazz luminaries as Woody Herman, Buddy De Francko, Al Haig, Red Norvo and Bob Brookmeyer. One of his most noteworthy associations was with Stan Getz.
