Watch the Two Note Freddie online guitar lesson by Frank Vignola from 30 Jazz Guitar Rhythms You MUST Know
Our fourth jazz rhythm is titled "Two Note Freddie", for the late (and probably the most influential) rhythm guitarist of the Count Basie Band, Freddie Green. He used to just play two notes most of the time. The two notes are on the 3rd and 4th strings. It's a very percussive style of playing a strum on every beat using your fretboard hand to make the staccato rhythm.
