Watch the Minor 6th online guitar lesson by Fareed Haque from 1-2-3 Bossa Nova

Similar to the major 6th but in the minor chord family is the minor 6th - cool and mysterious sounding. Brazilian genius composer Heitor Villa-Lobos almost always ended his pieces with a 6th chord because the 6th interval is the only interval that is equally used in the I chord, IV chord and V chord. As such he loved the 6th as the ultimate ending sound, it encapsulates all harmonies at once, resolved and dissonant at the same time - man, that's deep!
