Watch the Level 4: Jazz Blues Soloing online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from Take 5: Jazz Blues Soloing

There is definitely some variation afoot as far as how both jazz and blues musicians play the minor blues chord progression. B.B. King's "The Thrill Is Gone" goes to a bVImaj7 chord at the turnaround instead of a bVI7 chord, Dizzy Gillespie's "Birks' Works" goes to a iimin7b5 rather than any kind of bVI chord at the turnaround in bar 9, and Magic Sam's "All Your Love" sounds, to me at least, like a minor blues with a IV7 rather than a minor iv.
