Watch the Selecting Positions for Soloing: 1 online guitar lesson by David Wallimann from Guitar DNA: Pentatonics

Let's select pentatonic positions in a narrow area of the fretboard over the following chords: Am, Cm, D#m, and Dm. There are multiple possibilities, but in this example, we'll focus on the area of the fretboard found between frets 5 and 8.

The positions we'll use are as follows:

Am - minor pentatonic position 1
Cm - minor pentatonic position 5
D#m - minor pentatonic position 4
Dm - minor pentatonic position 4

Practice this in other areas of the fretboard as well!
