Now that you're comfortable with all the pentatonic positions, we can start looking at modes! There are many modes, but for the sake of simplicity, we'll take a look at the church modes, which are the most commonly used ones.

There are 7 church modes that can be divided into two main types: Major modes or minor modes. It's the 3rd that determines if a mode is Major or minor.

When looking at the formulas of the church modes, we notice that most of them include a pentatonic scale.
